Wayapa Wuurrk Pty Ltd ("Wayapa," "we," "us," "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
By using wayapa.com ("the Site"), our online courses, practitioner training, workshops, events, or practitioner community hub, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
Contact details — name, email address, phone number, postal address
Account and membership information — username, password, practitioner profile details, training history
Payment information — processed securely by Stripe (see Section 5); we do not store full card details ourselves
Enrolment and booking details — course selections, dietary requirements, accessibility needs, and other information relevant to attending in-person training, retreats, or workshops
Sensitive information — with your consent, this may include health information (e.g. dietary requirements, allergies, physical or mental health considerations relevant to your safe participation in a retreat or workshop), and in some cases cultural or Indigenous identity information voluntarily provided by practitioners or trainees
Education program information — where schools or educators engage Wayapa in Education, we may receive limited information from the educational service about the cohort (e.g. age group, number of participants); we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children
Communications — enquiries submitted via contact forms, emails, or phone calls
Technical information — IP address, browser type, device information, and usage data collected via cookies and analytics tools (see Section 6)
We only collect sensitive information (including health information) with your explicit consent, and only where it is reasonably necessary for the purpose of safely delivering training, workshops, or retreats.
2. How we collect personal information
We collect personal information directly from you when you:
Complete a form on the Site (enquiry, registration, newsletter sign-up)
Enrol in practitioner training, a workshop, or the online course
Create a practitioner or member account on our community hub
Make a purchase or booking
Contact us by phone, email, or through our support channels

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without the involvement and consent of a parent, guardian, or educational institution.

Meet legal, accreditation, and regulatory obligations (including obligations to our accrediting body)
Support the safety of participants at in-person events (e.g. emergency contact and health information)
We will not use or disclose personal information for a purpose other than the purpose for which it was collected, unless you would reasonably expect us to, we have your consent, or we are required or authorised by law.
4. Disclosure of personal information
We may disclose personal information to:
Service providers who help us operate the Site and deliver our services, including payment processors (Stripe), website hosting and e-commerce platforms (Squarespace, Printify for merchandise fulfilment), and email/newsletter platforms
Wayapa Practitioners delivering a workshop, course, or training you have booked, where necessary for them to deliver the service safely
Educational institutions where relevant to the delivery of a Wayapa in Education program
Our accrediting body (International Institute for Complementary Therapists) where required for practitioner certification
Government or regulatory bodies, where required by law
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
5. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers (including Stripe and Squarespace) may store or process personal information on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure these providers handle personal information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, including relying on the provider's own compliance frameworks (e.g. Stripe's PCI-DSS compliance for payment data).
6. Cookies and analytics
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to improve your browsing experience, remember preferences, and understand how visitors use the Site (e.g. via analytics tools). You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; however, this may affect the functionality of the Site.
